I have followed these directions previously but it dont appear that isPerhaps it quits because no defrag is needed. That is not a DOS window; it
working, something else is wrong. I was hoping someone could suggest why
it just opens a dos window.

is the window which the cmd program opens. It may look like DOS, but it
isn't DOS.
