I would appreciate advise/help on the following:
Windows XP Home - Icons on Desktop work fine and by clicking on them,
they open the appropriate program. However whenever I create an icon to
open a web page and I click on it - nothing happens, even doing a right
click and clicking OPEN - nothing happens.
I have tried various ways of creating these icons, Right clicking on the
Desktop, click new, create shortcut, insert the URL, click finish and I
have put the URL into the address bar for IE7 and then dragged the IE
icon to the left of the URL onto the Desktop. Both of these methods
work on other computers, but not on the computer I am currently working on.
I would be very grateful for suggestions on how I might solve this problem.

Run the URL Fix.
Good Luck, Ayush.
