Clicking on a one of the folders under explorer or My Documents knocks me out of folder viewing

For some odd reason clicking on the folder, where we keep our volunteer
files for raising money for a student art and design gallery, knocks me
out of viewing folders. Other folders are fine. Is there anyway to
fix this, and/or go in the backdoor and get these files out, or is
there a file in there that is doing this? I'm puzzled. Help. Mark
