I did not say they should be compressed. It was may be compressed.
Opening a compressed files may take longer but I am not aware that it
creates any issues. Try experimenting on a folder or two using each of
the two options. I have noticed
that if you add an uncompressed file to a folder where folder, sub
folder and files are compressed the file added remains uncompressed
until you compress it.

Hope this helps.

I know this has kinda gotten away from the Defrag problem I was
having. I
have an additional question regarding creating additional space on my
computer. In your comment below you mentioned certain folders that
should be
compressed. I checked those and they are. If I compress my personal
folders
that I haven't work with in a while, are there any access issues that
may
arise if the folder is compressed and I for some reason had to open a
file in
a compressed folder? Are the files in the folder compressed compressed
as
well?
