Un-scheduling a chkdsk /f

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I'm having problems with a chkdsk /f that just won't go away. Here's the
symptoms:

1. When the computer boots, it informs me that a chkdsk has been scheduled.
2. The chkdsk runs, apparently successfully.
3. The system boots into Windows XP Home.
4. I reboot the system, and steps one through three repeat.
5. When I try to run a defrag, the system informs me that it cannot perform
the defrag due to a scheduled chkdsk. It then tells me to run chkdsk /f.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this, and more importantly,
how I can fix this problem?

Thanks!
