Re: Upgrade Memory for performance

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi:
You' re quite RIGHT!

Strange enough, ... my friend's computer which is the exact same as mine is
NO problem with 512MB, ... even her other computer with 256MB has no
problem of accessing and looking at those professional photo sites.

Probably, inside the computer has a problem. Now, I recall the computer
was almost broken late summer due to 'fan' problem inside, that still
existing even though
it's functionable. I have NO plan to throw it away, however. I love it!

It's very lucky to receive an appropriate answer to my 'puzzle' from the
knowledgeable computer
expert like you.
Without your help/advice, I would end up buying the 512 MB, soon.

Since there is two more computer in my household, I have NO plan
to add to another RAM, 512MB which is close to $100 at local computer
store.

Many, many THANKS for your help.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks again for the response in detail, below. I truly
appreciate the time taking to answer to my question.

One thing about which I forgot to add to my previous post is that I
just want to look at photo site which
needs a lot of memory.

On 512MB, I hardly able to access the photo site, ... only ads.
popping up in the middle of the screen
instead of 'photo.' On the other computer with 1GB, those photos
comes instantly on the screen with ads
at the top of its URL/web-site.

Hence, I starting to think about adding memory is an answer to this
problem. Other than that, I do NOT need any other preferences. Just I
want to access the Photo-sites which
needs more than 512MB, as seeing the 1GB has NO problem of
accessing and looking at those photos.

This "photo site" with ads...
What is it?

- because it sounds more like both machines need to be cleaned up and
immunized against adware/spyware/malware than that they need more memory.

I visit many web sites and help people visit some with some heavy
animations and detailed photos (many of my customers do some type of
engineering research or another) and the specs you have listed would be
sufficent for most of them.
