Every time I try to run defrag on my laptop, I get the error message that
chkdsk is scheduled to run, and then am told to run ckdsk /f before
running
defrag. When I try to run chkdsk /f, I get the message : "The type of the
file system is NTFS. Cannot lock current drive. Do you wish to run chkdsk
at
start up?" If I answer yes, I get the same message at start up "Cannot
lock
current drive". If I answer no, I still can't run defrag. HELP
In a command prompt enter chkntfs /x to cancel the scheduled check disk run
and reboot. Things should return to normal now.
