Re: missing item from SP1

Set Program Access and Defaults came with SP1 first, Shenan.

When you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows XP
Service Pack 1a (SP1a), the Set Program Access and Defaults feature is added
to the Add or Remove Programs tool in Windows XP.

I am missing the "Set Program Access and Defaults" that I believe
came with an SP1 patch.
I believe that I have SP1.
But perhaps didn't fully download it thus this "Set Program Access
and Defaults" not being there.
Can I download the specific patch for this?
Please dt mention SP2 here.

Sorry - can't help but mention SP2.
What you want came with SP2 - not SP1.
(And/or a patch released after SP1 that was later included in SP2.)

List of fixes included in Windows XP Service Pack 2
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811113/
(search the page for "Set Program Access and Defaults"..)

That will lead you to:
New "Set Program Access and Defaults" Start Menu Icon and Help Content Are
Available for Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/820291

Which shows the hotfix that created this icon *requires* SP1 - it is not
included in SP1.

And that you can download it from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C87EF940-A311-4D3C-A7BE-2F86A8A5D450&displaylang=en

Which begs the question - why not mention SP2?
