No. You're still protected. And you do not risk problems with Outlook
Express, which is what you're using at least as a newsreader.

I have been on this newsgroup and did what you suggested, but nothing
happened. I tried to register my AVG FREE edition so I could get on
AVG's forum, but it kept saying my license number was wrong. Tried
entering it all different ways.
I tried to go to INFORMATION and then REGISTER ONLINE, but nothing
happened, it didn't take me anywhere. I tried it on all three of my
browsers.
So here I am - AVG makes my computer lag and not open mail or various
websites. When I turn it off it runs great. I have deleted AVG and
reinstalled it and it works great for a day or so then slows things up
again.
I have Windows XP, have done all the spyware and cleanup I have
available to me, but I think it is definitely the AVG. Before AVG I had
Norton and that was really a resource hog.
I like to turn AVG off, but realize that could cause even more problems
than just a slow computer.
I appreciate the ideas that have been given already, but any more would
be appreciated. I would like to get on the AVG forum if I could log in.
I didn't even find a phone number to call.
