My Compaq Presario laptop, running Windows XP Pro with latest
updates, has just begun to allow its CPU to be running at 100%. The
SYSTEM seems to be the main user of the CPU when other programs are
not running it.
How can I find out just what program, service or process is causing
this to occur?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Thanks for the advice. I managed to fix it, but I am not sure how. I
will get this tool to help if it occurs again.

It and all the tools at sysinternals.com are great tools, highly
recommended.
