Problem with uninstalling windows update.

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I'm trying to uninstall a windows XP update (specifically: KB912945)
and I have gone to the spuninst application under that specific service
pack uninstall folder.

I go through to uninstall the update, but then a window pops up and
says:

"The file 'plugin.ocx.000' on Windows NT Service Pack Uninstall
Directory is needed.

Type the path where the file is located, and the click OK."

It won't uninstall the update unless I have this file, but I don't. I
don't know where it went, but I don't have it.

What can I do? I'm just doing a basic uninstall of an update, and I
have not deleted any of the uninstall kits for my windows updates.
There's just this weird file that I have no clue what is that is
apparently missing, and I need, to uninstall the update at hand
(KB912945). How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I am very computer
illiterate.
