Re: System Restore

When the install asks for the sr.sys file point it to the i386 folder
on the drive. That's where the installation files are located.

Hello again and thank you for your response. The windows folder did
open and did display. Located the sr folder and right clicked to
install. However sr.sys needs xp home edition with service pack cd is
needed. That is not the cd i have. My cd is from 2001 for windows
xp home edition. although i do have sp2 installed through a
download. and the i386 files are installed cause i seen the folder.
So i guess i was unable to do the install. After that i did reboot
windows and check the system restore tool and still getting the same
message. thanks again

Thanks for your quick response. I did see this answer in other
posts. I did try to reinstallsr. This did not work. Still unable
to access system restore. I did find a service folder and did a
restart of system restore and this did not work. Also all folders
with sr----- I an unable to open says I need a different program to
open. Was unable to find a sr.inf folder at all. Looked every
where. Last nite did the recovery console r to repair and this did
not work. Repair the install is to advanced for me plus read it
could cause more errors. Any other suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks much, Deecedak
