i have been working on a large (250+ mb) jpeg in photoshop, saving it
constantly without any problems. however, after the last save i closed
the
file by mistake and tried to re-open it unsuccessfully getting the
following
error message: "could not open 'filename.jpg' because an unknown or
invalid
JPEG marker type is found". i've tried copying it, renaming the copy,
changing the copy extension, etc. nothing seems to work and i have no
backup
of it. is there any way to recover this file? please help. thanks.
PC Inspector/Smart Recovery-- a German program generally used to recover
deleted JPGs from flash cards may be able to help.
Rick
thanks for the tip. i've been running pc inspector/smart recovery for
almost
24 hrs straight now and its only 10% done.... does it usually take this
long?
Yep, it's slow as molasses even on a fast computer with plenty of
memory...but it works.
