I do not have the POS, Macromedia Flash Player, so I don't know what the
..exe file is, never mind, I found out what it is.

SAFlashPlayer.exe is the Macromedia Flash Player. Do a Search for
SAFlashPlayer.exe on your machine.

No, an installer file cannot open a .swf file.

IrfanView will also play .swf files

EXE is short for Executable. An executable file is basically another name
for a program. Virtually all programs that run under Windows or DOS are in
the .EXE format.

For an .exe file that is an installer file, the file is compressed or zipped
and is self-extracting. This type of file is designed to run and perform an
install just by double clicking on the file. Called a Self-extracting
Archive.

with this related question. I have Macromedia Flash Player V 7.0.19.0 on
my computer. It shows up in Add/Remove for example and in C:\Program
Files...In Program Files it is an exe program: Macromedia Flash Player 7.0
installer.exe. And I am wondering this. If I am correct that the
purpose of an .exe program (especially when called an installer) is to
install the actual program, how can it be expected to OPEN an swf file?
