If it is a SMART drive run a SMART utility and see what it shows up.
How to know if it is SMART?
Now that is the question! But a visit to the manufacturers site may help
BTW: is it still under warranty?
Some drives may be on 3 years warranty and some even 5 years.
Now that is confidence in a product :)
