This is just to vindicate your boyfriend, who is probably not getting
any since the event you describe. There was nothing inappropriate about
his suggestion that you start in Safe Mode, and it certainly should not
cause any problems that were worse than those you already had. Also,
there is no such thing as being stuck in Safe Mode. Once you reboot,
the fact that you previously attempted Safe Mode doesn't mean that the
current boot will be in Safe Mode.

Anyway, you say that now "nothing happens". If your "nothing" really
means NOTHING, then if you have a Windows CD, you can try a Repair
Install (Google for "repair install"). Also, if you have a Windows CD,
you can try to boot from the CD just to see if your computer is
working. If you instead of a Windows CD you have the computer
manufacturer's RESTORE CD, you may consider using that to get your
system to factory state. Note, however, that this could mean the loss
of any data you have on your computer.
