Re: Hang up after 15 minutes of inactivity

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Ciao Silvio

In Start, Control Panel, Power Options ( Opzioni Di Alimentazione ) I have four tabs:

1. Power Schemes ( Schemi Di Alimentazione )

Power Schemes Home / Office Desk ( Scrivania/Domestica )

Turn Off Monitor ( Giri Fuori Controllano ) After 20 minutes ( Dopo 20 minuti )

Turn off hard disks ( Spenga i dischi rigidi ) Never ( Mai )

System Standby ( Standby Del Sistema ) Never ( Mai )

2. Advanced

3. Hibernation

4. UPS

What entries do you have for Power Scheme Options?

Che entrate avete per le opzioni di schema di alimentazione?

Is your Windows XP Home Edition or Professional?

I do not have a "Sospensione" = Suspend tab here.

Before you try to restore your computer does the red light on the computer flash indicating disk activity?

Prima che proviate a ristabilire il vostro calcolatore fa la luce rossa sull'attività indicante istantanea del disc del calcolatore?

What is your setting for StartUp type in Services for the Indexing Service - Start, Administrative Tools, Services?

Che cosa è la vostra regolazione per startUp scrive dentro i servizi a macchina per il servizio di indexing - inizi, attrezzi amministrativi, servizi?

There may be something in the BIOS coming into play, I will try to get a look at a BIOS manual tomorrow.

A variety of problems can arise returning from Hibernation so it would

I have "Sospensione" as a tab avalibale in "Opzioni Risparmio Energia" in my control panel. I think they correspond to Hibernation and it is DISABLED. In the Advanced Tab I have selected "Shutdown" as the action to do when the power button is pressed. I think that Hibernation is not the cause of my problem. Even the normal standby is set to be "Never" activate.

Can you also please let me know the make and model of your computer and
when purchased. Also what anti-virus programme and version you have
installed.

The pc is built up using a Asus P4P800 mobo, Intel Pentium 4 3GHz. NVidia Geforce 6600, SB Audigy Platinum, Adaptec RAID 1 HD

The antivirus is AVG Free ver 7.0
