Ok, I'm I am fairly green when it comes to advanced settings on my
system so go easy on me please. A few days ago I had a trojan on my system which i have now managed to
delete and the system is working fine when i can get into it. The
problem I have is upon boot up the system hangs just before the log in
screen. I get the windows xp pro splash screen and then the screen goes
blank. I switch the system off and press F8 and select last known
working configuration for windows and it boots fine. I have been
searching the messages on your forum to find the same problem but there
are many variants so I thought I would register and post my own message.
Great forum btw.
Anyway back to the problem in hand. I have run reg mechanic and all the usual ad-aware, spybot, etc but the problem persists. Please help me as I dont want to keep rebooting in last known config (which in affect means booting twice every time). I am running a check disk upon next boot and I will post up the results as soon as.
In the meantime hopefully someone can help.
Download and install OS and application updates/patches, and ditto that with hardware drivers.
