I can't see any connection between this information and the warning I now
get when I want to install the Active-X from HP's website. How do I get RID
of that SP2 warning thing in I.E.?

Cat roots etc? I don't even understand the terminology at that site. That
page tells you to do things technicians are qualified to do, not average PC
users such as myself. If I mess the the cat roots I have no one here to
help fix my PC.

Can you please just tell me how to STOP this SP2 I.E. warning window from
coming up when I try to download an active X?

One way is to put the relevant HP site into your list of URLs in the Trusted Zone (IE, Tools, Options, Security, Trusted Zone).

## I already did that. It doesn't work. The Bar still stops all downloads from HP and MS plus other things. I want to know how to disable it so I can download what I want.

ActiveX controls can be lethal.

## Yes, I'm aware of that.

I would strongly advise against
allowing *all* web sites to drop arbitrary ActiveX controls on your
PC.

## I never allowed that.

You may well wish you could go back to a working system with
annoying warnings, after being nailed by commercial malware and
sometimesworse, delivered through ActiveX intrusions.

## I agree, now how do I disable this security bar so I can download critical MS updates and allow the HP site to scan my system for updates?
