Hi, Bryan,
If I had your problem, I would give serious consideration to uninstalling
all vestiges of Norton
Symantec products from my computer by following the information on the
Symantec website. I hope you can successfully access the website. There's a
lot of reading to do, a lot of links to follow, and a lot of attention to
detail required. After following the appropriate links and after having
successfully uninstalled all Norton products from my computer, I would follow
Symantec's instructions for reinstalling the products I wanted to reinstall.
If your version of Internet Security is 2003 or earlier, use this link:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/sunset-c2001kb.nsf/b2800a763e9ac79a85256ee600534d6e/6bda05684c3c813e85256ede004ddaf6?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam
If your version is 2004, use this link:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/docid/2003111409501936?Open&src=bar_sch_nam&docid=2001031603570665&nsf=nip.nsf&view=b2800a763e9ac79a85256ee600534d6e&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=
We have used the tool to remove 2003 and earlier products, and have had
great success doing so. We have not had to use the instructions to remove
2004 Norton products; but if they work as well as the ones we used, you will
be a happy camper.
Good luck!
