Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry
Check to see if the old service is still in your services list: Click
start and choose run, type "services.msc". Scroll down the list to
"MySQL"; if it is there, delete it and try again.
If not, it might be easier if you let us know what error message you're
getting when you try to install.
