You might want to visit the web site of your laptops manufacturer
and download and install the latest audio drivers for your
particular model. That would be the safest route to take.
Other approaches would be to open Device Manager and use the
driver rollback feature to restore the previous version or to use
System Restore to bring your PC's configuration back to a time
before this problem developed.
Post back with the manufacturer and model number of your laptop
if you have any problems finding the correct drivers.
