Loud "beeping" noises on startup and "resume" with Dell Inspiron 1150

My laptop started making loud beeping noises upon startup
and resuming from standby, every time. their are about 3-5
beeps, which repeat 2-3 times. Sounds like morse code.

i have system suite and have run every diagnostic and
repair wizard it has, to no avail.

can anyone help?
