Its worse than all that. Scans with Norton AV and Trojan
Hunter [both with current sig files] find nothing, but I
agree that a process is running that scrams anything that
might be used to fix the problem.

Its not just Task Manager. msconfig.exe and regedit.exe
are terminated as soon as they are launched as well. It
feels like a brick wall of malware. I'm within an inch of
formatting this machine and starting over.

Somebody stop me........
