Jeff
Switching DCOM off is the wrong approach. You need to find out the cause of
the problem.
The unknown user is seeking access to Microsoft Word. You are the third
person reporting this problem in the last week. The last one had this to
say:-
"Explore.exe crashes every time I open one specific folder. This folder is
named downloads and contains media
files (Audio and Video) that I have downloaded, all other folders work fine
even other ones that contain the same
types of files. "
Does the other persons experience ring any bells?
He found a solution but what exactly was the problem is not clear and what
he exactly did is not clear

Do you have Word installed?
Speculating. It could there was an interruption of the download process. Has
your problem commenced after a file download?
