It is a shame that Symantec has reverted to a charge per issue basis for technical support on the Web.
Call up your local support number for Symantec and demand that they answer your question without charge to you.
It is an offense to human nature to supply a product that doesn't work or cannot be made to work without extra expense being incurred by the purchaser.

I have removed the utilities from my PC where Norton's violates the Windows rules.
If you want, run CHKDSK /R to diagnose and repair disk problems.
