error message 0x000000051

when i attenpt to boot my computer my harddrive is not
detected. when the computer continues to boot i am asked
to run it in safe or normal mode, when i continue with
either one a blue screen apears with the
message "REGISTRY_ERROR" the error number is 0x000000051.

how can i fix this problem please. or find out what the
error message means.

i have run check disk [chkdsk] and it tells me errors
have been found and they where subsequently repaired,
although on reboot i still recieve the above problem.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
