Can be any number of problems. What brand computer?
factory CD Burner? Some things you can try: Try different
brands and types of cds. Is the CD inserting properly? Is
the drawer closing properly? Check for driver updates from
the manufacturer for your computer and /or cd
player/burner. Check for cd burner program software
updates. Uninstall and reinstall the cd drivers/hardware.
Try a new cd player/burner program or uninstall and
reinstall the old one.
