Hi, Debbie.

Adding RAM is easy - but it can be tricky!

Simplest fix first: Is it fully plugged in? My fingers have often told me
the SIMM or DIMM was fully installed - but it wasn't. Sometimes we have to
push really hard, after making sure the slots match the keys, of course.
When it is fully inserted, those "ears" at either end should lock into
place.

Next, of course, is that you have to be sure you have the RIGHT memory.
There are many variations. The only way we can tell you for sure is to read
your computer owner's manual. Or go to a site like www.crucial.com and make
sure you have the right stick for your computer make and model.

Some computers are so downright picky that you can only add RAM sticks in
pairs. Some insist that you use Bank 0 first; others want you to use Bank
1. Again, we can't read your computer manual, so you'll have to do it.

If you tell us your computer make and model, someone here might recognize it
and know what to tell you.
