You are using the web based reader. It appears that you did not post back to
you original message. I found your post of "a couple of hours ago". It read,

"Whenever I turn the computer on it jumps into 256 color
mode. It's easy enough to change back to 800x600 true
color but why is it doing this. Sometimes when I'm
checking email it changes mode as well. or even just
surfing. I've checked all my game compatibilities and
they seem okay Any help is appreciated"

800x600 is a matter screen of resolution, not colors. What kind of video
card do you have.
