Hi,

If you boot into Safe Mode does the problem go away ?
It is highly likely that some sort of background program
is causing this.

virus programs to remove spyware and to check if something
else is causing CPU usage at 100%. These solutions have
not worked. On my machine I am getting svchost.exe as the
culprit and if you search knowledge base there is a known
issue on W2K with this and MS suggests going to the RSA
site for a solution. I can not find it and would it be
applicable to XP?
