shutdown problem

Hi all,
When i install windows xp Pro to my comp. about 1-2 week
it has no problem about shutting down after a while when
i tried to shutdown it restarts. i have checked the
registry key "powerDownbAfterShutdown" key its value was
0 then i have changed it to 1 but nothing changed. What
do i need to do to shutdown my comp. porperly.
