I have this problem that's frustrating me! I recently wiped my HHD.
I loaded all the applications etc that I needed on the pc. I also
had to create six (6) users. I activated the "Fast switch between
users" in the User Accounts, because the users each have their own
profile.
PROBLEM: When I start the pc, the log-on screen appears with all the
users. When one user loggs off and the other user wants to use the
pc, the textbox where the password must be typed in, is INACTIVE.
This means that I have to restart the pc every time someone wants to
work. This is bad for the pc since it stays on 6 days of the week.
What could I possibly do to fix this issue. This is inconvenient.
As a workaround, a restart isn't necessary: at the Welcome Screen (where the
password can't be entered) just hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys and tap
Delete twice. This will bring up a username/password box which you can use
to log in as the desired user (just overtype whatever is in the Name field).
If you Google around this problem you'll find a bunch of suggestions; a fix
that has worked for many people is to download and install Microsoft's
UPHClean (User Profile Hive Cleanup service) -
