and it is a suite, just like Microsoft Office only free. See

Microsoft Office suite. And with the exception of "x" files
(docx, etc) reads and writes almost all Microsoft files with ease.
Get your money back if you paid for it, and go download the actual
program at openoffice.org if you're interested in saving money on
the purchase of Microsoft Office.

Why not just answer the question that is asked idiot?!?!?!?

Because sometimes going further than merely what is explicitly asked can be
extremely helpful, that's why.

In this case, the answer to the question as posed is "No". However, *if* a
little digging had yielded that part of the OP's $80 had been for Open
Office, she would then have *known* that she had grounds for redress from
the seller, if she wanted. It was worth mentioning. You said, "He did not
say he paid for Open Office" - but it wasn't entirely clear exactly what the
money *was* for - the computer, the operating system, or what. Worth
digging; not worth your little rant and name-calling.

If someone posted a string of symptoms almost certainly caused by malware
and asked directly how to fix each of them, would you *just* try to post
back a list of individual fixes for the pop-ups, slowness, non-functioning
programs, etc (being "the question asked as it is asked")? Or would you take
a step back from the poster's assumptions and suggest that in fact they
should also ensure they have adequate security in place once everything's
cleaned up?


As far as I am concerned it is a waste of time to ask anything here
because very seldom does anyone just answer the question asked as it
is asked.

There were six replies which directly answered the actual question the OP
asked. Add that to your statistical tallying (and don't forget to include
*on the opposite side of the balance* your own two contributions).

Oh, and if you're going to make an assumption about the gender of someone
posting under the name "Missy", why would you assume they were male?
