Have just managed to find query in the archives, and appear to have sorted it

You cannot save files onto a blank CD disk using a CD-ROM drive. A CD-ROM
drive is Read Only and doesn't write. You need a DVD/CD-RW drive.

Please post back with what optical drive you really have, what type of blank
media you are using, and with what program you are trying to burn a CD.
