Re: Server Time Out

Hi,
I do have McAfee security suite installed that was provided free from my
ISP. I'll check to see if Site Advisor is activated by default. I have
disabled E-Mail scanning. Using your computer in the newsgroups you
don't get any "Time Outs" when returning from getting coffee or pop?
Thanks for the help - Yeah, I know you don't use OE.

No, I don't use OE (or Windows) to access newsgroups although Comcast is my
ISP and I'm not seeing any problems with my service. If the problem only
occurs in newsgroups, are you using the Microsoft news server (and not
Comcast's)? The MS news server is msnews.microsoft.com.

If the problem continues when using the MS news server, you might want to
install another newsreader and see if the slowness is OE-related or more
global.
