Try a System Restore from Safe Mode.

I can boot up completly from any of the safe mode options but when I "start
windows normally" or with "last good configuration" it shows the xp
loading
screen as normal but after that is finished the keyboard locks up and the
screen goes black. The pc does not re boot and is still on though. . I
have
ran chkdsk and it shows everything fine. Is there anything else to do
before
trying the repair windows?
.
