It is now called CCleaner. "Safe" is a relative term. I know what is safe for me, a professional computer tech, to use but I can't know what is safe for you to use.

I use CCleaner when I am working on clients' infected computers. I would not suggest using the registry cleaning part of CCleaner but it is quite good at removing temporary files, etc.
