The key on the base of the laptop is for the Windows XP Operating System,
not the Office applications.
These are most likely trial versions of Office, so you'll need to purchase
the applications. If you actually purchased the applications as part of a
bundle, then Dell is responsible for providing you with the keys.

|I purchased a Brand New Dell Laptop with XP Professional 2002 Version 2
| already installed from Dell UK In December 2006, every time I go to open
| Office/Word or Excel Applications I have to provide a CD Key I therefore
| input the Microsoft CD Key Data from the base of the Laptop and
immediately I
| am informed that this is the incorrect key.
| I contacted Dell and they tell me it is not their problem as the XP
system
| is operating and the problem belongs with Microsoft - That doesn't seem
right
| as the programmes must have been put there by Dell. Unfortunately it
means
| that having purchased the item I need to pay for support which is
expensive
| before I can use Office that just does not seem fair and I refuse to pay
it.
| My question is - 'Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue myself as
I
| have been unable to use Word/Office applications since purchase of the
laptop.
|
| Thank you in advance of any support offered
.
