I always get the pop up new "programs installed" when I left-click
the start button so that I can access my programs. It is a
nuisance.
Is there a way to have it not ever pop up?
I use XP Serv P 2
Right-click on the start button, choose properties...
Should bring you to the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" window with
the "Start Menu" tab chosen.
Click on the "Customize" button next to the already chosen type of start
menu you are using.
Click on the "Advanced Tab" in the "Customize Start Menu" window that
appears.
Second chjeckbox, "Highlight Newly Installed Programs" <-- Uncheck it.
OK your way out.
