Every time i click on something i get this message:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not
have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
I can view all my pictures, saved documents & music but i can not open
anything else. Also all the programmes i had on the start menu have dissapeared.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Make yourself a new user account. Does it work? If yes, copy over your data from your original user account and use the new one. When you feel you've gotten everything the way you want it, delete the old user account.
