Kodak Imaging was the default image viewer that installed with

I have used Irfanview for years. It does not allow me to view and
edit the annotations made by Imaging on my image files. I would
like the old Microsft default viewer---Kodak Imaging---as the
default image viewer on my XP.
You are correct and incorrect at the same time.
Kodak Imaging was included with Window 9x and 2000.
Microsoft was obviously licensed to use it on those OSes.
However - just because you own Windows 2000 and a license for Windows 2000
does not mean you are licensed to use PARTS of it beyond the use of the
Windows 2000 OS itself.

Is this what you want?
"G360 Imaging for Windows replaces, and is compatible with, the Wang Imaging
for Windows included in Windows 95 and NT and the Kodak Imaging for Windows
and Imaging Preview in Microsoft Windows 98 and 2000 (sometimes known as
Microsoft Imaging)."
