My subscription of NAV ran out.
Since NAV is a memory hog, I decided to try Live Onecare (for three
computers).
I installed it onto two computers. I already installed and
uninstalled more than three times each already.
It caused a lot of problems. Very often the whole screen freezesb
because of Live Onecare..
I am watching closely for one more week. If the freezing occurs
often, I will dump it into trash.
BTW, what program do you use as antivirus program.? I am
considering to renew NAV.

What about the dreaded word in the computer world, VIRUS?
Well, there are many products to choose from that will help you
prevent infections from these horrid little applications. Many are
FREE to the home user and which you choose is a matter of taste,
really. Many people have emotional attachments or performance
issues with one or another AntiVirus software. Try some out, read
reviews and decide for yourself which you like more:
( Good Comparison Page for AV software:

AntiVir (Free and up)
http://www.free-av.com/
avast! (Free and up)
http://www.avast.com/
AVG Anti-Virus System (Free and up)
http://free.grisoft.com/
ca Anti-Virus (~$49.99 and up)
http://snipurl.com/13e0u
eset NOD32 (~$39.00 and up)
http://www.eset.com/products/
Kaspersky Anti-Virus (~$39.95 and up)
http://www.kaspersky.com/kav6
McAfee VirusScan (~$39.99 and up)
http://www.mcafee.com/
Panda Antivirus Titanium (~$39.95 and up)

(Free Online Scanner: http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/)
Symantec (Norton) AntiVirus (~$39.99 and up)

Trend Micro (~$44.95 and up)

Most of them have automatic update capabilities. You will have to
look into the features of the one you choose. Whatever one you
finally settle with - be SURE to keep it updated (I recommend at
least daily) and perform a full scan periodically (yes, most
protect you actively, but a full scan once a month at 4AM probably
won't bother you.)

In fact, I test ran free AVG for a week.
It works fine but it deletes or inactivates exe files downloaded
from elsewhere (but did not affect those exe files in Program
Files).
That is the major problem.
??
Given that the list has at least 2 other free options and at least 6 other
pay options...
Not sure why you chose only one and thought the rest were worthless?
If you want to pay - I'd go with:
Kaspersky Anti-Virus (~$39.95 and up)
http://www.kaspersky.com/kav6
or
eset NOD32 (~$39.00 and up)
