Try this:
Open a run command and type these command:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
Also be sure that this computer get an Automatically assigned IP, by click
Start >> Double click Control panel >> Double click Network and internet
Connections >> Double click Network Connection >> there on the Connect Right
click and select properties and on the connection Properties click on
Networking Tab.
Under this option you will see:
Internet Protocol TCP/IP
Qos Packet
File and Printer Sharing for MS Net
Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
then click on Properties.
There if you get assigned Automatically IP from your ISP, then select the
Radio Button:
(*) Obtain an IP address automatically
If you get a static IP (which I doubt) check this Radio Button and enter the
IP:
( ) Use the following IP address
IP address : [ 0.0.0.0 ]
Click [OK} after you done your Changes and Reboot your computer and try to
connect.
P.S did you get a software to run on that computer to establish and install
the Driver and software to establish connection?.
HTH.

Hi Ron,
Does the second computer is complying to the requirement of the DSL, does it
connect Wirelessly or wired?.
Did you run the Wizard to establish the connection?.
She doesn't have TCP/IP Protocol installed on the machine try to install by
going to the control Panel and Network and Internet connection.
Read this steps and see if it will help you to figure out the missing piece:
