Did you use third-party utilities to customize the "Welcome Screen"
perhaps,
using utilities such as LoginStudio, any other Theme tools or by manually
ResHack'ing the UIHost?

Example:

If you've done any of the above, then switch users option may not work.

i did that already....that's why the "switch user" option is available
when
i click the start button, then log off....

hi all!

a little help please! starting yesterday i haven't been able to use
the fast user switching ability whether i try to use the "start-log
off-switch user route" or by pressing the "Win key and the letter
L"....when i press the win key+L, a box appears that says the
computer is locked and only an administrator can unlock it and to
supply a password to open it again....i'm using xp home sp2...

i hope i'm explaining this well....
