Re: computer problems

hi sorry if this is a recurring question but my computer is running
very slow even though i have put more memory into it. Boot up seems
slower than normal as well. done all the usual things like defrag and
disk clean etc but still seems to boot up and run slow. Anyone out
there know what is the best for windows XP as far as getting rid of
spyware addware, etc . theres so many on the market and it seems like
you have to download loads so your computer can be kept clean. You get
zone alarm , pc tools , system mechanic etc etc what will keep the
computer up to date and get rid of all old files that are supposed to
have been deleted but are still hidden away in the computer.
HELLLLPPPPPPP anyone please.

Go through these general malware removal steps systematically -
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Include scanning with either Sysclean or Multi_AV, plus Ewido. Do all
prep/finishing work and follow instructions to do all scans in Safe
Mode.

When all else fails, run HijackThis and post your log in one of the
specialty forums listed at the link above (not here, please).

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).
