to delete the item directly from the drop down menu, right click on each
entry and select delete. To prevent items from being saved in the drop down
menu, go to the control panel>internet options>Content
tab>AutoComplete>remove the mark next to web addresses and forms.AND click
clear forms. As a measure of certainty, also click on the General
Tab>History>clear History AND change the number of days to Save History to
0.
To prevent the latter part of your question, i.e, typing D brings up
suggestions, if you use Google, go to Options in Google, you'll find
'search box settings' or however it's worded..slightly different for IE and
Firefox..remove marks that would keep your search settings.

new to here, i no how to delete history on the internet, plus cookies
and temp files. but how on earth to you delete the drop down menu
when
on something like google,
ie. goto google.com or ntl.com, etc, and as soon as you type a letter
in there search menu, there is menu that gives you the option to
select
a topic, or start of a letter, like in my case, dating, so if i put a
d
in the search menu, dating comes up.

right click/delete. Or go to the content tab in internet explorer and
clear
the check marks that pertain.
not exactly sure what you mean,
