I registered the .dlls with no problem, but now during the sfc /scannow I'm
getting this message: "Files that are required for Windows to run properly
must be copied to the DLL cache. Insert your Windows XP Home Edition CD
now".
Of course, I don't have that CD, because I'm working on a Dell that I
bought
with the software already loaded......I guess I have to go BACK to them
now
with this info....thanks!
This may not have a bearing on why you can't access secure sites.
You may skip this step and continue with the rest.
On the other hand, it is to your advantage to request an installation CD.

Thank you, I followed the link, and my SSL and TLS boxes are already
checked.
I don't, however, even have a PCT connection to check/uncheck?

Have you tried turning off ALL McAfee Security and seeing if it
works.
If
so, then check the Allowed/Deny Cookies setup for the PC.
Also check what you have setup for blocking in McAfee.

About 2 weeks ago (I've been talking to my banks's IT guys,
Dellconnect,
my
ISP and Dell again in that time) the link to access my bank account
(an
https
site) from the bank's homepage quit working. All of the other links
on
the
page work, and that particular link still works on the 2 other
devices
in
the
house that share the same broadbandwireless router. At or about
that
same
time, I began to get a "Cannot find server or DNS Errort" message
when
I
tried to access Google. A call to my bank verified my SSL and TLS
settings
were correct, and on "Auto Detect Proxy Settings". I'm on Windows
XP
Home
SP
2 with cipher-128, IE 6, McAfee Security. DellConnect was unable to
rectify
the problem and pointed me to my ISP who was unable to help. My
laptop
is
still under warranty, so the Windows IE Help pointed my back to
Dell.
I've
tried upgrading to I 7, loaded all of the fixes that I thought
sounded
remotely related from the Windows site, and eventually, did so much
to
the OS
that I had to so a complete PC Restore Monday am. Now, I've finally
gotten
everything back to where it was when I had the original problem.
Duiring
all
of this, if I signed on to AOL, I could still get to Google, but
still
couldn't get to my bank acciount. I can get to other https sites
like
my
eBay
sign-on, etc.
Today, when I sign on to Google via IE, after a long period of time,
I'm
still getting "Cannot find server or DNS Error". I've tried
google's
site
as
my defualt when IE opens, the address bar is blank and I get the
"Web
Site
Found, waiting for reply" message and then it times out. IF I make
www.msn.com
my defualt, it opens fine.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be so appreciated,
especially
with the banking problem. Thanks!

Some of these steps you've already performed.
I suggest you start from the bottom of the article. For starters ignore
creating a second account and start by registering the .dll files
