Using the "monitor" controls, reset the color settings to default. Then
you can start anew to make custom changes.

I did a sfc scannow hoping to correct a defrag problem, no help, now my
backgrounds on some folders are shades of color, example in a card game

If you run the LCD monitor in analog mode (most people do), the monitor
will self adjust from the bios startup resolution (which is something
rather low) to your final desktop resolution. You do not want to
prevent this from happening or your desktop image will be messed up.

Now, if you have your monitor connected to a video card that has
digital output, are using a digital cable between the card and the
monitor, and the monitor is set for digital operation (it had better
be) - none of this will happen. Everything just works as it should,
without any adjustments at all (except for color, contrast, brightness
etc.).
