Re: Unable to find Computer D in workgroup

Problem Solved! Between you last MS link and the idea of "something" having
a "residual effect", I realized over the last 24 hours, Computer D, the
girlfriend's computer has never been restarted or turned off.

Using browstat.exe on the W2K machine, I found out that Computer D contained
the Master Browser. Rather than turning off the machine, since I don't know
passwords on that machine, I simply unplugged the cable from the router to
Computer D. I restarted the other 3 computers. Lo and behold, Computer C,
the one I've been having the problems with was elected Master Browser! I
bet your now kicking yourself for not suggesting to check for Master Browser
Status. Don't you just love it when a complex problem with multiple
possible solutions is rectified by a rather simple and elegent solution?

THAT SOLVED THE ENTIRE PROBLEM OF NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE WORKGROUP MEMBERS!!

I have set things back to their original settings, using NETBIOS default
setting and all is well!

Thank you Dave for taking time to help me out. Between you, Squire and
myself, we can now put this problem to bed!
